Appearance: Tall, handsome, well built, and with aristocratic features, Vyers is at least somewhat the beauty he claims to be. His straight, violet hair reaches between his shoulder blades and is kept impeccably neat (to have it otherwise would be a crime!). His eyes are red with a slit pupil and his ears are long and pointed

Vyers wears a black, long-sleeved jacket ending just beneath his ribs with a large, red collar, red cuffs, and, on the back of the jacket, the picture of a red rose. A pair of demonic wings with a span about twice Vyers’s height can be seen coming from the jacket, black on the outside and red on the inside. Finishing off the black and red clothing ensemble, Vyers wears a pair of black slacks with a red belt and red boots.

Personality: Vyers is narcissistic and vain with an ego so large that it could probably power an entire country for years were it somehow harnessed into electrical power. Should one insult his person, one should be ready to be on the receiving end of shouting, rage, and general spazz.

Vyers absolutely loves dramatics. A dramatic entrance, a dramatic rescue, a dramatic speech, if he can be a drama queen, he’s usually quite content, making it hard to tell whether or not he is taking something seriously. However, beneath the ego and the drama lies a kind-hearted soul, ready to give aid to those who need it and insulted by those who show excessive cruelty.

Abilities: Surprisingly, Vyers is quite intelligent. He is an excellent planner, able to draw up a plan quickly and bring it to fruition all while keeping it completely secret. His persistence is enough to be an ability all its own, considering that the demon simply will not give up. Even with odds significantly not in his favor, even if past results have shown him that he is pretty much screwed, even if there is a great possibility he will be utterly crushed in the process, Vyers will continue to fight valiantly on in hopes that he will turn out the victor in the end.

Vyers is about twice as strong as a human, with stamina and speed to match, although the majority of his skills seem to have disappeared. The only one that remains is the Adonic Shot, which is now about the size and just as effective as a baseball. He mainly uses hand-to-hand combat to fight.

Weaknesses: Vyers cannot make things up on the spot. Period. Whatever he does come up with is likely to be completely, utterly unbelievable or the weakest excuse you have ever seen. This is especially prevalent when it comes to tactical retreats. When he begins to lose, Vyers will cite some sort of minor illness as a reason he can’t fight, or the usual “I underestimated you” excuse if he has met the person for the first time. If questioned on something he doesn’t want to talk about or want others to know, he will pretend as though the event never happened.

His pride is what can easily cause his downfall. Repeated insults to his person will drive Vyers into a rage, making his attacks sloppy. If these insults happen to come in the form of being called “Mid-Boss,” they could probably take him down while he is going off on a rant or desperately trying to correct the person.

Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider

History: Approximately two years before the beginning of Disgaea, the overlord of the Netherworld, King Krichevskoy, fought against an invading force from an alternate netherworld, Baal, the Lord of Terror. Krichevskoy succeeded in locking Baal away, but was gravely injured in the process. Returning to his castle, he came in contact with one of his vassals, Etna, who was ready to sacrifice her life to save him, like Krichevskoy’s wife had done for his son Laharl. Etna was stopped, however, and Krichevskoy died of his wounds.

He was later revived at the hands of Seraph Lamington, though he was far less powerful than he was before. Though grateful for Lamington’s deed, he returned to the Netherworld, knowing of the chaos that would be going on due to the sudden death of its overlord, adopting the name Vyers to hide his identity.

During the two years his son was asleep, Vyers was challenging and defeating numerous challengers for the throne, earning him a little bit of notoriety. At the same time, he spoke with Seraph Lamington, eventually fleshing out an idea to help bring the Netherworld and Celestia together through the meeting of Laharl and the angel trainee Flonne.

Vyers first met up with Laharl again in the castle he had acquired. The two fought against one another (an event prompted by Vyers receiving the nickname “Mid-Boss”) with Vyers losing and running off to fight Laharl another day. He would engage Laharl many more times, testing Laharl’s strength and character to see if he had what it took to become a great overlord.

When Laharl was ready to sacrifice himself to bring Flonne back from being a flower due to the Seraph’s punishment, Vyers intervened, letting him know that Flonne would return to normal shortly. Once they were reunited, Vyers took his leave, disappearing in a brilliant flash of white light alongside the Queen… and ending up face down in a pile of rubble in Manhattan.
